Valentino Garavani: Bags, Fashion Show & Interview with Lady Gaga

Valentino – you probably know the bags and shoes. But Valentino also stands for high fashion and haute couture like no other brand. This is particularly evident in the brand’s luxurious perfumes, especially the Valentino Uomo Eau de Toilette. So that you can get to know the brand’s haute couture in addition to the popular jumpers, we have put together a few fashion shows for you here. In addition, there are spots for a handbag collection with Chinese actress Guan Xiaotong and for perfume with singer Lady Gaga. To find out who is actually behind the striking Valentino red, you can find an interview with creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli here.

Fashion Show: For Woman & Man

Valentino makes itself popular with many people with its fashion and fragrances. The luxury brand offers bags, shoes, jackets and purses for every occasion. We show you collections for spring, summer, autumn and winter.

Spring / Summer: romantic & individual

The show took place in Milan. For this collection, Piccioli, the current head of the label, focused more on the identity of the brand and less on aesthetics. This statement about identity was supported by the fact that the collection was purely individual pieces and promoted an expression of different characters, of young men and women, from different social backgrounds. It is clear that anyone can wear Valentino and that the label values uniqueness.

Fall / Winter: Ready-to-Wear

The collection puts black and white looks in the foreground. Geometric patterns and the cut create a classic look. The garments are presented in a large darkened hall. For the models who are walking, there is a spotlight illumination that shines only on them and thus clearly puts them in the foreground. This gives the designer’s pieces complete attention. According to the designer, this is supposed to be a reflection of the time of the Corona Pandemic, which drew the focus of the whole world.

Fall / Winter for Man

This collection for men is predominantly in darker tones. In contrast, many of the pieces have brighter floral patterns that immediately catch the eye. These loosen up the rather austere style of the warm clothing and add a bit of vibrancy to the dreary winter days. Accompanying the show, a woman in a splendid glittering dress sings on a stage.

Haute Couture Show: Golden in Rome

In addition to gold and various shades of white and brown, this collection also shines in strikingly bright colours. Both male and female models flaunt golden elements on their faces as they show off their clothes. Some of them balance on breakneck platform heels through the large hall of the Galleria Colonna in Rome. The colours of the clothes harmonise with this environment, as gold and marble tones are also found in the room as ornaments and decorative elements. In addition, the stately baroque paintings serve as a good basis for the luminosity of the bright colours in the collection.

Collaborations with Stars: Guan Xiaotong & Lady Gaga

Here we show you some of the many campaigns featuring stars like actress Guan Xiaotong and singer Lady Gaga.

Actress Guan Xiaotong: Spot for a handbag

The successful Chinese actress and singer Guan Xiaotong is brand ambassador for the label. In this spot, she presents the new handbag collection “520 Capsule”. In the video, she seems to be searching for her love in various rooms. Following various clues, she finally presents the new handbag of the collection. It is named after the number 520, which means “I love you” in Chinese chat language.

Perfume: Collaboration with superstar Lady Gaga

Valentino presents the new fragrance with star singer Lady Gaga. Valentino gives the perfume the Portuguese name “Voce Viva”, which means “you live”. It has a sweet and fruity scent. The luxury brand chose Lady Gaga as the face of the new fragrance because both brand and star stand for freedom, self-confidence and equality. In this interview, the US singer also elaborates on the meaning behind her singing.

Interview: Pierpaolo Picciolo

Fashion designer and Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli at Valentino talks about his art, collections and inspirations in this video. The top Italian designer explains his thought processes and the meaning behind the colours. He also talks about his understanding of culture, beauty and fashion.
